REPORT PAGE FOR: Karen Panek, Hamilton New Zealand Report: 24 August 2003 More reports: 10 March 2003 - 29 June 2003 - 26 November 2003 Hi all This is my 2nd Project here. Unfortunately I didn't take an early pic once I observed germination, which was in approx 5-6 days. These seedlings were photographed on 22 August 2003. Already, after a month, many of them are showing their 2nd pair of leaves. Remember this was a mixed batch of seed - some from Olga's own hybrid seed, from 7 different crosses, and some added in which was purchased from AGGS to make up the loss of seed that we suffered earlier. Lee knows the kind that he bought us for this. I just hope that the 'little ones' don't get too intimidated by the larger growing Sinningias and give up the ghost ... ! My Method: I placed the seedling container in with several others in an oblong plastic container and covered it with plastic wrap and placed them up close to the lights, on top of a pot. They are all about 4" away from the tubes. I use 2 x 40 watt Cool White tubes and they are going for 8 hours each night. It is winter time here. You can see in the pics how moist it all is. I haven't had to water the containers since the original soaking in very weak Miracle Gro solution. Karen Pictures 22 August 2003 22 August 2003 |
