First seed start: Sowed 6 Feb 2003, Germinated 14 Feb 2003

The attached are my first seed starts from the AVI Sinningia Grow and Tell.

Planted 2/6/03.
First start 2/14/03

Looks like I will have a large number of seeds that will germinate.
To date, about 20 to 30 are visible, I expect more.
The seeds looked good to start with.

Culture:

1. Normal AV potting mix covered by (1/2 CM of sifted
   (window screen) Perlite and 10% Vermiculite mixed).



2. SOLO cup 3oz



3. Synthetic yarn wick



4. Reservoir Small baby food jar



5. Environment controlled by two 8 oz cups back to back
   to keep the humidity high (Tape shut)



6. Distance from lights about 8" at the end of the tube (low light)



7. Temperature 66 to 75 F



8. Expected germination 8 to 14 days



9. Be sure to wet the wick (water and 2 drops of dish
   detergent) before you put it in the SOLO cup
